GIG PREVIEW: Jaywalkers Play The ARC, Stockton

Updated: Apr 9, 2019

Jaywalkers are heading to Stockton

Young folk trio, Jaywalkers are set to play an intimate gig at The ARC in Stockton on Friday 8th December.

The band will be heading to the Stockton venue to perform as part of its new Studio Folk programme, which sees rising stars of the folk scene playing a series of intimate gigs over the next six months.

The three-piece are renowned for their effortless ability to create a unique sound based on both their collective and individual musical backgrounds, taking influence from folk, bluegrass and country and western swing music.

Combine their exceptional instrumentals, three part harmonies and admirable slap bass with their tasteful arrangements and undeniable charisma, and the result is somewhat of a spectacle. It’s musical ingredients like this which have led to creating the folk feast that are Jaywalkers.

Since earning a place in the finals of the BBC Young Folk Awards back in 2008, band members Jay, Michael and Lucille have firmly cemented their place within the music industry as one of the most exciting, entertaining young groups to grace the British folk scene.

Gig-goers can expect to hear some of the bands most celebrated recordings, such as ’16 Miles’, ‘Early For A Thursday’ and ‘Weave’. Tracks which include up-tempo instrumentals and foot-stomping choruses, enhanced even further through a live performance.
