James are heading to Middlesbrough as part of their 'Better Than That' tour

Manchester rock legends, James are heading to Middlesbrough Town Hallon Tuesday 22nd May as part of their ‘Better Than That’ tour. The group are set to revisit 7 venues across the country they’ve not played for many years, giving fans the opportunity to witness them in unique, intimate surroundings.


Formed in 1982, James are arguably one of the most influential pioneers of the Manchester music scene, with the likes of The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays supporting them throughout the 80’s. The band enjoyed popularity throughout the 90’s with hits such as ‘Sit Down’, ‘She’s A Star’, ‘Laid’ and ‘Come Home’, with the latter being voted as the ‘greatest ever Manchester anthem’ in various radio polls.

Their relentless creativity and diverse sound spans over 14 studio albums released over the last three decades, achieving both critical and commercial success whilst gaining a loyal army of dedicated fans across the world. Their colourful career has gained them a reputation as one of the most iconic live bands to ever grace the British music scene, whilst selling over 25 million albums worldwide.


With the release of their 14th album, ‘Girl at the End of the World’ being cited as their most commercially and critically successful album for nearly 20 years, it’s safe to say that James are back, and they’re better than ever.


Fans will be excited to hear that for an additional fee of £38.50 there’s a rare opportunity to attend three songs at the gig’s sound check, as well as taking part in a 15 minute Q&A session with the band. Please note, this ticket must be purchased alongside a standard ticket.
