Plastic Glass released their new single, ‘Let Me Know’ on Friday 10th April. Fresh from the first leg of their tour, the Sunderland rockers are back with another infectious track; cementing their rise within the beloved North East music scene.
Let Me Know sees the band return with familiar, tuneful angst. Lewis Conlin’s vocals are laced with a poetic quip, he’s a natural-born storyteller. Lyrically, the record captures themes of frustration; the irritability caused by flakey friendships and unreliable love.
“Cause I wanna know why you gotta go,
“If you're gonna leave, just let me know.”
Like with most Plastic Glass tracks, Let Me Know demands the listener’s attention from the get-go. Ben Richardson’s introductory bassline is both simple yet enticing, paving the way for a wealth of colourful instrumentalism.
Conlin’s lyrics race alongside Dylan Abbott’s chopping guitar and Frazer Graham’s boisterous beats. Arguably, it’s the band’s innovative musicianship that sets them apart from the rest, their songs possess an air of relatability, a loveable grit.
Let Me Know is a solid addition to the ever-growing Plastic Glass catalogue, a track that will become increasingly mightier in its live glory - now there’s something to look forward to.
