Candle lit rooms, crooked stairways and crafted ales. The Twisted Lip is a unique haven of diversity and enchanting attributes.
Tucked away on the charming surroundings of Baker Street, the quirky hideaway has become a firm favourite amidst Middlesbrough locals since its opening in 2014.
The bar poses as a cultural breath of fresh air, with its stripped back wooden features, captivating adornments and cast-iron fireplaces. The perfect ambience for live music.

It comes as no surprise that the local favourite plays host to one of the area’s most popular open mic evenings. Hosted by musical linchpin, Jake Radio, the weekly event sees swarms of people descend on the illustrious venue.
Every Thursday sees the bar immersed in blissful acoustics, radiant rhythm and vivacious vocals, bound together with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. What more could you need?

Owner and entrepreneur, Matthew Saul said:
“We’ve been running an open mic night for five years now. It’s a very successful night, we’ve got a good vibe and people love coming here.
“There’s a real mix of good people, we’ve got some really good talent, local talents, yet people come from far and beyond as well.
“Come down to The Twisted Lip and enjoy!"
With such an eclectic range of musical genres, The Twisted Lip’s open mic evening is sure to satisfy music junkies with their mid-week fix.
The Twisted Lip hosts their open mic every Thursday evening from 8pm – 11pm. With free entry and an ever-flowing stream of exclusive, crafted ales, what’s not to love?
