Why does it seem that no artist seems to be able to create a festive hit that sticks? Even the likes of Beyonce and Coldplay have failed to rise to the occasion, so what is it that makes it such a mammoth task?

North East singer-songwriter Jay Smith decided to stand up and face the challenge of producing an evergreen track, and he's smashed it.
